2. Fault memory check
- Type cmd into the Windows search bar.
- Right-click on the command prompt and run the command as administrator.
- On the command line, type the following command and press Enter :
- If the system partition is not C, replace c: with the alternate letter assigned to the system partition.
- Restart the computer and try to copy the files again.
The above steps should speed up the copy process considerably, but a fully functional memory is a prerequisite.
If your internal/external hard drive or USB stick is damaged, it will take much longer than necessary to calculate and process the files.
In the worst case, you won’t be able to manipulate the files at all. This is a clear sign of an impending hard drive failure and we recommend backing up your data as soon as possible.
But let’s not jump to conclusions. There are several ways to check the archive for errors.
There are many tools for this purpose, some of which are integrated into Windows 10, others are third-party solutions.
We strongly recommend that you use Restoro. It is an excellent software that can check your memory and get rid of errors. This system optimization tool restores all changed files on your system to protect your hardware.

Use Restoro and avoid further time errors to keep your memory healthy.
3. Temporary disablement of antivirus
Although Windows 10 comes with a fairly competitive Windows Defender, most Windows users continue to rely on third-party anti-malware solutions. And rightly so.
However, some third-party antivirus programs do not work well with Windows 10. In many ways, they are probably better than their peers.
They can slow down the system and disrupt simple operations, including copying.
In particular, the real-time protection of some antivirus solutions attempts to scan files as they are transferred.
And if you already have hardware problems or system errors, it’s probably something you don’t want.
We therefore recommend disabling virus protection for the remaining time of the data transfer. Once you’ve copied everything, you can run a localized scan for the virus.
4: Use of alternatives
There are many third-party file transfer tools that can work. Most (if not all) are free and relatively easy to use.
- FastCopy is a fast multithreaded copy tool, but not the best design.
- The copy manager is fast and well designed, it lacks data validation.
Finally, if you have repeatedly failed to calculate the time it takes to copy the files, but you can confirm that the support is good, the problem may be in your browser.
We hope that one of the above solutions has helped you to correct this annoying error. If you have an alternative solution or questions about registration, please feel free to let us know in the comments below.
